Introduction to the Features and Functionality of the CLR Website
The Change Leader's Roadmap (CLR) website has been designed with you, the user, in mind. This document introduces the features and functionality of the website and is designed to help maximize usability of the resource from the very first time you log on.
Layout of the Welcome Screen
When you first log on to the CLR, the Welcome screen is displayed.
Each page of the CLR resides within this template. The following explains some of the features you will find on every page.
Top Right Hand Corner Navigation Bar
The upper right hand corner of each page is the location of the "top right hand corner navigation bar."
1.
Home: navigates you back to the Welcome screen.
2.
Table of Contents: outlines a hierarchical view of every page within the CLR, which is described in Navigating the CLR.
3.
My Account: where you can renew your subscription, update your username, password and contact details, view you purchase history, or manage administration of your corporate site license.
4.
Logout: recommended action before closing the resource or when leaving your workstation.
Right Hand Functionality Bar
Directly below the Phase tabs (described in Navigating the CLR) is the "right hand functionality bar." This bar appears on every page of the CLR website.
1.
Previous and Next: These buttons move forward and backward by page through the CLR, as if the you were flipping the page of a manual. Previous and Next is an easy way to skim through the pages to find what you need, or to simply explore the content available within a specific section. A faster and more intuitive way to navigate the site is described in Navigating the CLR.
*
It is important to note that the Previous button does not navigate to the page you were previously viewing. To do that you will need to use the back button on your internet browser. Previous navigates to the page immediately prior in the sequence of pages of the CLR.
2.
Print: allows you to print any page of the website. If you have ever tried to print website pages before, you will know that they do not always format properly. Using the built in Print button means you can print a copy of the page you are viewing that is formatted for optimum print functionality on US letter and European A4 paper sizes.
3.
Email: allows you to email any page to any email address or email distribution list. When you click the Email button, an email message screen appears allowing you to customize your message.
The recipient of your email will receive a link to the page you sent them. Clicking on the link will immediately open the page in the CLR. Once in the CLR, if they try to navigate further or click on any button or tab, they will be asked to log in as a subscriber, or sign up for a free trial to continue accessing the resource.
Primary Navigation Buttons
On the left side of the screen, there are 5 primary navigation buttons. These buttons are accessible from every page. Once you begin navigating, additional buttons will appear within the resource (described in full in Navigating the CLR.) The following describes each of the 5 buttons.
1.
Contents: Displays the contents for the CLR.
2.
Search: Displays a standard search dialogue box that allows you to type in search criteria such as a keyword or phrase, set your display and match options, and then activate the search by clicking "go."
Your results will be displayed in order of pages that most likely match your search criteria. The results are displayed as hyperlinks for direct navigation to the suggested pages.
3.
Checklist and Overview: The CLR Checklist and Overview are additional resources provided with your CLR subscription. These reference manuals help to guide the strategic planning of your change strategy as you use the online CLR, as well as provide the hands-on tools needed to execute the strategy.
Clicking these buttons provides a downloadable PDF of each booklet.
The Checklist is a planning and assessment tool to assist in both designing and auditing your change plans. Use it to select which tasks to include in your change effort's process plan, and alter it as needed to keep track of your revised plan. This at-a-glance status of your change effort reveals the tasks you have completed, as well as those that need action. Use a new Checklist on every change effort you lead or support. For more information on using the Checklist, read the Getting Started: How to Apply The Change Leader's Roadmap Methodology to Your Live Change Efforts support page.
The Overview provides a high-level view of the Change Leader's Roadmap—including phases, the purpose of each phase, activities, tasks, and task deliverables. You can use this booklet to educate people about the basic structure of the CLR and its process nature.
4.
Worksheets: Displays a list of all Worksheets and their associated Tool. The worksheets in the list link to a Word document of the worksheet that can be filled-in and saved to your computer. Click Worksheet Instructions for complete instructions on how to use the Word worksheets.
